Its been a while since i wrote something on my blog. Please excuse me for that.

The delay might have been because life has become busy like never before.

But if you ask me, i will tell that i did this intentionally, to prove a point that i dont forget things so quickly.

And this post is dedicated to all of those people, mostly my friends from Mangalore. B)..

And here iam, back to blogging.

Let me start again from where i had left. The story had stopped at me completing 50 days at my first company.

After that i went on to complete 70 day.. B).. hehe..

On the 71st day i had an argument with the HR, which led me to this..

and then this..

I decided that i will quit the job and also decided that 29th January was my last day at PAPL, the company. I was very sure about leaving the job, and was also very unsure about the future.

But there was this super twist in the tale. On 29th January i had a interview with Mphasis, and Thank God, i cleared the interview (which was preceded by a GD)

The story couldnt have been scripted any better. And then i happily quit the job and 15 days later was on my way to Mangalore.

Enter Mangalore, a semi urban town, with rude-talking people.

Reached Mangalore on 14th February, checked into the hostel, and then made recce about the spots. Little did i know that the hostel would be the best spot.

Mangalore weather, is the worst i have seen in my life until now. Too hot, humid. That too it was peak summer when i went there. My room fan ran continuously from 14th Feb to 4th May, when it finally stopped rotating. Such was the weather.

The first few days were purely meant for signatures. I signed signed and kept

on signing for almost 3 days. .. Then started the real training, the soft skills part.

It was fun, to sit like you were sitting in a classroom, albeit with more interaction with the teaching people.The softskills training was for 12 days after which the technical traning started.

The first few days also made me realise that i was too weak in remembering and corelating names of people and faces. To beat this i started naming people based on the brand of cigarettes they smoke, SMALL, ULTRA_MILDS et al.

SMALL went on to become world famous at Mphasis. .

And there was this instance where i could not recognise my room mate.

After the first few hiccups i did make a lot of close friends.

Who told hostel life makes you see LIFE? I became a lot more lazy staying in hostel.

Not to forget the stupid, going nowhere conversations, which would go on all night. And when the sun rose we would sleep.

Also i remember the long, really long phone conversations which would usually go on for hours together.

The one thing which is still etched in my memory is the near miss while we were returning back from bangalore to mangalore one Sunday night. Our bus, VRL met with an accident on magadi road. The bus rammed to a Santro leaving the two people of the car dead on spot. And the bus’s diesel tank got damaged and we were lucky that the bus didn’t catch fire.

And then started the ordeal, stuck in middle of nowhere at midnight. Had to wait for two long hours for the replacement bus to arrive, and guess what the driver didnt know the route to mangalore. and we had to sit beside him and tell him the way.

And in the middle of all these i had the chance to change a guy’s life. He was a student of NIT-K who was travelling with us. He had got into IBM global(He was thinking seriously about joining it) and i advised him not to go for IBM instead try for something better and bigger. And he did get something better and a lot bigger. He took my advise and got into a company which paid 9.4 LPA!!!! . It somewhat gave me a sense of satisfaction when i got to know the news.

The short bangalore trips, which i was making, after i reached mangalore, would make me feel that i was 350 kms from heaven.

Nonetheless, Mangalore was wholesome experience.

Coming to the food, I didnt really have a chance to try out GOOD food. This was mainly because of the most of the friends i made there were vegetarians or were allergic to good food. .. :@..

But the food at AUNTY’s made the experience kinda memorable.

Not to forget our Java trainer who needs special mention.

We also visited some places in and around mangalore. Mangalore’s Garuda Mall, Bharath mall also needs a mention.

And the famous, IDEAL Icecream. At one point of time, we were eating Icecream for dinner at IDEALS. ..

Dharmasthala, Kukke, Udupi need mention, so do St Mary’s Island, Penumbur beach, Someshwara beach. Not to forget Liquid lounge and Cyclone lounge.

And also Dhanraj, Surabhi and Sahara.. ..

And the cricket matches we played against the local teams, that too the ones against LUCKY boys’ team.

And yeah! The movies. MOVIES! Saw two of them in mangalore, Prithvi and Phoonk 2.

And those IPL matches in the TV room!!

Our technical training finished on 10 April and we were sitting entirely jobless until May 5.

Our itenary was get up and LOGIN and go and play cricket.

On May 5 we got our posting and i luckily, like most others got namma Bengaluru. ..

Hmmm.. That pretty much seems itt..

May be, i, knowingly or unknowingly missed out on some specific moments.

I , 2009 and some Idiotic gyaan..

2008 made me see things through my HEART. Yeah!!

2009, for me started with a 3-page sms for my SPECIAL ONLY ONE-at 12:01AM-, followed by an hour long wait for a thank u reply, which never came. But i had my own way of looking at it. She didn’t reply because of the PREMIUM sms charge for the New Year.

The next day, I mean 01/01/2009, which I think till date is the most stupid day of my love life. I call it stupid because it was only because of that day I realized my impatience and persuasiveness towards others and how I could make others burst out at me.

If given a chance I would like to go back to that date and ctrl+z things and then try redoing them.

Also that was the last examination day of 7^th semester which I thankfully didn’t screw up.

And things didn’t end so fast. There was this night-out which went completely awry and ended up with me being red eyed, dry faced, **** headed, call what you want, the next morning.

Day two was no different. Went to a romantic movie with a deeply hurt heart, mind, body and soul and came out feeling more hurt!! . And there started a new list of hyped movies going flop. Whole of 2009 was a uniform year with respect to Kannada movies- hype movies would become flops, and non-hype movies would also become flops(ex: Raj).

And a few more days of lull( normal days) , then on the 6^th of January, a trip to madhumalai forests which completely ruined my finances from top to bottom and left me bankrupt and I have stayed so for most of 2009. May be I was being affected by recession.

. And then again on the 11^th a trip to talakaadu.

OHHO!!

This is getting a bit too detailed!! ..

These were just the starters; there were a lot of them all through the year.

The month of January was also the month in which the blogger in me surfaced.

And come February, college, final semester started and it was fun attending and not attending classes. For more info about my college life http://jusliktht.wordpress.com/2009/06/29/aa-dinagalu-those-days/ . Those were days when I was living LIFE KING Size.

Thankfully I completed my engineering in time, to my surprise.

And then came the real drama of my life. Have been there, done everything. . Or may be ” gone there, finished everything”

First it was a job at infosys, which went haywire (Read Mr. Pai fiasco) . And a few more companies which I planned to join. But sadly I didn’t fit into them or they didn’t want to fit me into them. .

Then higher studies which was led by a plan to do MS in Manipal University. Dropped that, after prodding over it for 15 days.

Then planned something bigger, better and a lot more dangerous one- DREAM AUSTRALIA!!. Thought of doing MS in Australia, then, switched to MBA, and then finally dropped out!!. May be I have postponed it to an indefinite date.

Then GATE 2010.

Then finally got into a job (after clearing 8 rounds) and even after 50 days into the job I’m still not sure what I want to do in future.

These days I am thinking more on MBA lines- higher studies in UK, CAT, MAT and what not?

If there’s any award for sheer planning then I should surely get it. .

Totally 2009 has been a year which has seen blunders by me, day after day, month over month.

I hope to live 2010 with more aim, vigor and purpose.

And coming to my New Year resolutions I would like to make some.

Yeah!! There’s no point in documenting them, because I’m not going to follow them anyway, being the fickle minded kinda person I am.

Anyways, at the end of it, wanna see something enlightening? I mean some GYAAN?

Here it is.

May be this is the principle which is responsible to my current situation.

And how about fooling yourself? And make a IDIOT of yourself, just like i have done. .

Wrap up…. Those Days….

“Finally, 4 long, pain in the ass, years have come to an end.” Sorry for the vocab.

This was said to me by one of my friends the day i finished my Engineering project work. He was talking about going for a trip to DE-STRESS ourselves. Seriously, i never have worked hard in Engg to get stressed and now to destress. Although, my closest of friends would not believe this or they ACT as if they dont believe. As far as i remember the last time i slept for less than 6hrs a day was in my PU. PU was good.

But Engineering was great.

By great, i dont mean my academics. Academics have taken a huge beating in my quest to live LIFE KING size.
Gone are the days, when i used to enter the examination hall aiming to score 100, and coming out of the hall cribbing about the LONE one mark question i couldnt answer or was not sure of the answer. These days,it was different. I went into the exam hall thinking about scoring just 50 and come
out thinking “35 possible with DIVINE INTERVENTION”.

Times do change. But the reason for this kind of change was not fate. Its how u approach your life.
I chose to do it this way and happy with the way ive completed B.E(hopefully).
Academics aside, Engineering has been a great personality development THING for me.
I was never the guy you see me nowadays. I dont know whether i changed myself for engineering or engineering brought out the REAL person in me. May be SOME QUESTIONS DONT HAVE ANSWERS AND THIS IS ONE SUCH TYPE OF QUESTION.

Engineering has been fun. Made a lot of friends.

These four years have been dotted by memories, some fond, some not so fond.
Be it going out with friends, playing football,scoring dozens of goals in a single match:p, the LS visits,the b-parties, sitting in the canteen for hours together eating nothing, those cricket matches, those linkups, those debates, those RATINGS, those nicknamings. Uhh!!!

And those TREATS which were mainly aimed at burning holes in each others’ pockets. :p

One of the memories was organizing our class trip to mahabalipuram. First we had to convince everyone about the location. Then came most important phase-to get the people to actually come for the trip. We had actually made a failed attempt to organize a class trip in 5th sem. We didn’t want it to be repeated.So, there it was “Whats your problem man? Money? c’mon i will pay for you”.Most of them did fall for this dialogue, but there were stubborn guys who were hell bent on not coming. The reasons given were “i will get tanned”, “What if someone dies?” The trip gave me lots of accolades and lots of headache. How can you cater to the needs of 45 different people, 6-7 different GANGS,if i can call them so. Each one with a different attitude.

The next memory was the NIGHT-OUTS, although we made only a handful of them.

One more was definitely my LOVE episode,largely unsuccessful. But the things i did in those 100 days are most memorable, and i still remember every moment of it.

Not to forget those movies, mostly Kannada,that too first day first shows, that too mostly flop movies. I did see a handful of other language movies also-3 telugu, 3 Hindi, 3 English to be precise.

And those small kiriks, the compromises, the break ups, the patch ups, differences, the laughter.

I wonder whether the future will be the same as it was before- Happy, funny, full time enjoyment it was or may be fulltime fooling around.

All this was possible because of the unique set of friends and i thank them for every moment of it!!

Olave Jeevana Lekkachaara.. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar’s directorial venture is a story about how a young man spoils his LOVE and his LIFe by heeding advise of other people.

In the movie a poor student(Kitty) falls in love with a rich girl(Radhika Pandit). But he is mislead
by his teacher who advises him wrongly on almost every fact of LIFE. And the hero beleives his words to the core only be mislead further. Due to this the hero runs away from the heroine and leads a idiotic lonely life in the city, only to be enlightened one fine day about the real LIFE.

The highlight of the movie is Rangayana Raghu who as a lecturer gives the almost non-existent angles to LOVE and LIFE by his witty dialogues. At one time even i was made to believe the preaching he gave to Kitty were true. Such is the weight of his character. Hats off to Nagathihalli for those kind of dialogues. Music by ManoMurthy is on the downfall, without any catchy tunes.
And about the climax, which was widely publicized as the highlight is unconvincing and too predictable when compared to the rest of the story.
And one more speciality of the movie is that RED colour has been used in every single frame of the movie,although i did manage to find some frames without the red colour.

Finally the movie is a must watch for anyone.

DEV D- Worth watching once, a must for anyone who has loved.

DELHI 6- A movie with a heart, can give it a try.

FAST AND THE FURIOUS 4- Watch it for the stunts,witty dialogues, the storyline’s pretty ordinary.

ARUNDATHI- Movie with black magic n stuffs, watch it for Anushka

As my Engineering life comes to an end, i would like to make a recall.
My Engg life has been dotted with full of FIRSTs.

Although, EVERYTHING’s FIRST TIME,SOME TIME :p
I would like to share the FIRST’s of my ENGINEERING LIFE.

First time, I ever rode a bike to college.

I ever ate non-veg on a monday.

I ever went to a police station. ( read as NOT JAIL) (No criminal Records)

I ever went to a railway station.

I ever went to a hospital, with a “body”.

I ever got single digit marks.

I ever thought i would fail.

I ever was sure of failing in the exam.

I ever had shortage of attendance.

I ever smoked a cig.

I ever tried a joint.

I ever drunk.

I ever got drunk.

I ever went to a airport.

I ever fell in love.

I ever got a 2nd class.

I ever bunked a exam.

I ever was thrown outta class.

I ever ventured out of karnataka on a fun trip.

I ever prayed to GOD to “pass” me.

JHOSSH, director Shivamani’s venture after much hoopla regarding selecting the actors of the movie is full of jhossh. Itseems that the director screened 14000 faces to select the 10 odd actors of the movie.
The casting could have been better, but at the same time its not worse either.

The story’s about how students are mislead from the various attractions(misattractions) of life.

The story’s about how some people get through them learning a lesson and never erring in their life and how some people keep on repeating the mistakes again and again.

There’s school life and college life of young people to be seen.
The screenplay could have been better.
Sharan’s comedy in the first half is awesome. He will leave you wanting for more.
Music is lively.

The movie’s message tells students, young people what NOT to do in LIFE.

SCENE 1- Yuvraaj Singh hits the Srilankan bowler for a six over midwicket of the last ball of the over. Before I could get an update of the score by the commentators or on the scorecard there’s an advertisement saying “one k or two k, future will be ok”! PS: arre yaar, who worries about the future now, first tell the score.

SCENE 2- Yuvraaj Singh edges the ball to the wicketkeeper and the Srilankan players appeal. Yuvraaj promptly starts walking towards the pavilion. Leave alone telling the team score and replaying the dismissal, the channel doesn’t even wait for the umpire to raise his finger and before the viewers could understand what is happening there’s an advertisement saying “unwanted 72, feel free ****”!

If you are cricket lover you will have noticed these kind of incidents happen repeatedly.

Gone are the days when the channel used to reserve some space on the TV screen only for scores. Nowdays, separate space is reserved for the advertisements. Even if someone drops in and tries getting a quick look at the score, it would be almost impossible to see the score along with the number of overs bowled within a minute. The viewers are left to wait for the channel to show some mercy on them before they get to know the exact number of overs bowled.

Advertisements do help the channels concerned to rake in the profits in return for their investments. But this shouldn’t be done at the cost of viewer’s dissatisfaction. Consumer satisfaction should be given at most preference.

The commentators do try to add their bit by trying to tell the score before the last ball of the over is bowled. But even that doesn’t always help, given the fact that we are a cricket crazy country. Hope the channel concerned(Neo sports in this case) comes up with something concrete so that their advertisements do not eat into our hunger for cricket.

This incident happened on Friday when i’d gone to watch a movie.

As you know, smoking is banned in theaters. As you also know, people just dont care, they light up in the interval.

In this theater, they’d made elaborate arrangements to frisk people for any security threats. I had a cigarette pack in my pocket and the security guy asked me to throw it into the dustbin. I did.I was happy, never mind the 20 odd rupees i lost.

I came out of the screening area in the interval, and guess what, there was a guy selling cigarettes at a price of 5 rupees per cigarette. And i really dunno whether he was selling the same cigarettes which had been collected at the entrance!

Now this is the REAL WORLD, or may be the REAL INDIA!

All said and done, i didn’t want to take the headache of complaining to the authorities. This is another example of the REAL INDIA, or more exactly INDIANS(atleast some of them)!

Rajakumari, Balaji(Ravichandran’s brother) has returned to the silver screen after a long gap. His earlier movies were aham premasmi and thunta. Director Govindaraj has selected a good story. The movie is a triangular(rectangular) love story. There is a good blend of romance,humour and sentiment in the movie. The hero falls in love with a girl whos disguised herself as a widow. Another girl,nikitha(of vamshi fame) falls in love with the hero. There’s a lot of twists and turns in the story. The first half is dumb except for some comedy. The second half is lively. Rangayana Raghu steals the show as the house owner.Bullet Prakash is okay. Ravichandran comes and goes in the second half. Btw he’s still got fans. It was very much evident by the crowd reaction when he enters the scene. Music by Harikrishna is average.
